Individual Nerd Style with Monthly Tee Club

My wardrobe is currently in a precarious balance. One half is lined with standard fashion items from the high street that I have picked up over the years. The other half is my collection of geek wear, that has slowly become more and more prominent.

I love it.

However, sometimes it’s difficult to find fandom tees that are unique and individual to you. Once a new piece is online, every other geek out there will be snaffling the same items. Whilst this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, I just think it would be nice to have something that is tailor-made to my personality.

Luckily for me, Monthly Tee Club reached out to collaborate, and this is exactly what they specialise in.

The company do monthly giveaways on their Facebook page (including this little number THIS MONTH), go check it out!

Monthly subscription boxes are all the rage right about now, but how about a bespoke t-shirt delivered to your door every month? This is Monthly Tee Club in a nutshell. You basically send over your hobbies and interests, and based off of that, the company design you a surprise shirt for your wearing pleasure.

I was lucky enough to receive one of these babies for myself. Being both a geek and a (some would argue “self proclaimed”) comedian, you can bet that this little number reached out to my wonderful sense of irony. Big time. Plus I have to admit that The Flash was one of the few saving graces of Justice League, so I’m glad to show my support.

I adore the art style of these clothes, I must say. Very cute and meme-esque, the perfect combination some might say. The bright red is a standout colour, one of the few that doesn’t clash too hard with my hair (fellow gingers will understand). I paired it with my favourite denim shorts, tights, over-the-knee socks, a flashy bracelet and a choker for a geek-rocker look.

Is that even a thing? It is now.

Fun fact: I had to move to a different spot on the wall for this pic as there was bird poop directly above my head. Story of my life, eh?

Even if you’re not a fan of DC, the design is cute enough to get attention, as for some reason a lot of people seem to absolutely adore sloths. You can bet that this is going to be put down on my “con-fashion mental checklist” that is currently becoming rather extensive.

I should probably write them all down at some point. Hmm.

Anyway. You can build your very own collection on the website, with up to four tees a month depending on the package. It really depends on how much of a revamp that geek clothes rail needs! It’s also worth mentioning that they don’t just specialise in nerdy designs. There’s a whole host of items that you can receive, be it subject-related, or pun-based. And I know how some of you adore your puns...

MAX PUN LEVEL ACTIVATED

Perhaps you may be reading this and thinking, “Well, not really my bag. BUT, I do have a pal who would love this sort of thing.” Well, once again you are in luck! In addition to their standard services, Monthly Tee Club have gift boxes that you can customise, along with a little message for that special someone. Pretty neat huh?

In addition, the company believes in giving back to the community. So for every t-shirt that is bought, they donate one to somebody in need, such as somebody who is homeless or somebody in need of clothing around the world. You can follow more on this project using the hashtag #Tee4aTeeProject.

With nerd culture becoming ever increasingly popular, it’s important that we have secret hacks such as this site to keep our style fresh. I personally would love to see more clothes and items added in the future, and then I can replace ALL my wardrobe with all the nerdy shiz on the planet.

Well, maybe not all. But I’ll give it a damn good go.

Check out more of their range on their little old website, Twitter and Insta!
